Nilstat Oral Drop For Candidiasis 

Nilstat is produced by Wyeth, which contains Nystatin. It is an antibiotic with anti-fungal activity produced by a strain of streptomyces nousei. It is anti-fungal medicine is also being used to treat oral candidiasis or thrush caused by fungus candida, which creates sore, raised patches creamy-yellow patches in the mouth.

This cherry flavoured suspension contains 100,000 units of mystatin per ml with propylparaben (0.03%) methylparaben (0.12%) as preservatives. It is being used for the indications of the oral cavity caused by candida (monilia) albicans.

Contraindications

Hypersensitive to nystatin should not use this drop

Adverse Reaction

Some common adverse reaction of nystatin includes nausea, vomiting, gastrointestinal distress and diarrhea etc.

Note: Limited clinical studies in premature and low-birth weight infants indicate that 1ml four times daily is effective. Warning (Not for Injection)
